Direct Links and Short Links

For quite some time now, we've had fairly simple direct links to our websites. The following is a list for reference.

Massac Unit School District #1 - massac.org or unit1.massac.org
Massac County High School - mchs.massac.org
Massac Junior High School - mjhs.massac.org
Metropolis Elementary School - mes.massac.org
Brookport Elementary School - brookport.massac.org

There are some others as well, but I thought it would be helpful to list these here.

We also have the ability to create short links for websites using our domain name. An example of this is with InformationNOW.

The actual website for our InformationNOW is: https://516471.stiinformationnow.com/InformationNow/Login.aspx, whereas the created short link is sl.massac.org/infonow.

It can be a handy way to shorten your class website name or to create a shorter name to a lengthy website that you use a lot for class. To access the Massac short links creation page, please visit sl.massac.org. You will be required to sign in to access and create short links.

I also like to use Google's URL Shortener, which can be found at goo.gl. The shortened Google URL's are in this format (goo.gl/agse9) and are case sensitive. The nice thing about this is that you can keep clicking the Shorten URL button until you get something that you are satisfied with. This is best utilized when you are signed in with your Massac account or other Google account.

Text Rotation in Google Sheets

Google Sheets continues to receive new functionality. Recently, text rotation was added for our accounts. Text can be tilted, rotated, or stacked. It can also be set at a custom angle. Here's an example of what it looks like: To try out this feature, type some text in a cell, then click the Text Rotation button in the Sheets toolbar. Alternatively, you can also select Format, then Text Rotation in the drop down menu. Enjoy!
